Week 2

We decided to take a trip over and stay with Jesse in Eastern, WA so that he could see the kids more. I was a bit nervous travelling with two, one being only 2 weeks old. But, it went just fine. It was great to see Jesse after work, Kylie enjoyed swimming in the pool and I cuddled Mason. One day, my sister, her boyfriend and my mom drove over and we spent the day in Leavenworth. It was really fun!

Poor boy was SO upset on the way back from Leavenworth, that Crystal took him out of his carseat the MOMENT we returned to the hotel to console him. Here he is feeling way better! Thank you Auntie Dot!
Kylie loved comparing her doll's size to her brother.

Meeting Auntie Anne

It was such a sweet treat to introduce Auntie Anne to Mason. She adored him so much and shared with us that she was ready to do it all over again with her daughter turning 12 soon.....just kidding! She loves our baby like her own.

Sibling Love

Kylie is really enjoying being a big sister! She loves to help with diaper changing (well #1's of course!) as well as holding her little brother. Here are some sweet moments!

Meeting the Broady's!

BFF's!

After talking about it since the moment I announced my pregnancy, Mason was here and we were able to introduce the boys to one another! Shauna and Brandon also held Mason and Bronson's curiosity about him was so sweet; wanting to touch him and play with his car seat. We were finally able to see the boys together- what a gift!!

Shauna you are so special to me in so many ways! You are a wonderful friend who has been there for me through so much and I have enjoyed our visits while on my maternity leave. I feel so lucky to have have watched Bronson grow from the moment I met him at 3 weeks old to witnessing his first steps at my house! I am excited for you to watch Mason do the same! I love you!

Kylie's LAST day of 2nd grade

First day of second grade

Last day of second grade
This school year was overall great! Kylie reached some wonderful milestones in her reading and math. She also aced ALL, but a couple of her spelling tests which put her into the challenge tests. It was so neat to see her get so excited about school! She also participated in cheer this year, which kept us very busy during Fall, then joined gymnastics in the Spring. Kylie makes me laugh so much and has grow up a lot this year, which makes me sad too. I truly have enjoyed it all!

Meeting Jessica!

Jessica and Ben met Mason when he was just a few days old! We had a wonderful time visiting with them and she was SO thoughtful and sweet and brought us dinner for that night! The fact that we didn't have to think about dinner was so wonderful and it was SO delicious too!

I feel so lucky and grateful to have you as a friend! You have been there for me so much over the years and I have enjoyed growing up together-all the memories we have created and now we get to raise our boys together! You are always so kind, thoughtful and helpful: saving me with maternity clothes, offering me SO many of Ben's things for Mason, helping with my shower and SO much more! Thank you for being the great friend you are! I love you!

Week 1

Mason is such a sweet baby! He has Jesse's ears, my eyes and mouth. It will be awesome if he keeps his blue eyes. This is Kylie's LAST week of second grade, which we are a bit sad about. It is has been a little challenging adapting to two kids- Mason needs me a lot right now and I am still healing. Luckily, Jesse has the week off to spend at home helping. I have enjoyed it very much! Before he headed back to work, he deep cleaned the entire house so I wouldn't have to worry about that. THANK YOU BABE! YOU ARE THE BEST!

I could just watch him ALL day long! SOOOO in love!!!

Bringing Mason Home

The first day was overall amazing! We were in such awh of Mason. Feeling very blessed and thankful that he was so perfect in every way. We still couldn't believe how quickly he entered this world, but pretty neat to say that I had a natural birth too! We are so in love!

I am in LOVE with these little feet!

Mason James Daurie- born 6/11/2012

I went to work Monday morning after a great weekend of trying to get labor started naturally: walking, a couple of doses of castor oil and a wonderful pedicure! As you can imagine, I was a bit frustrated when nothing happened and I had to go to work. Jesse got off early that day and on his way home treated me to lunch at Scuttlebutt where we decided to have jalapeno coins as an appetizer hoping that the spicy food would help get things started. EWH. First off, I dislike spicy foods altogether and even worse jalapenos. Even dousing them in ranch didn't help much. I was on my way home at 5:15pm and text Jessica to confirm our lunch date the following day. As of my appointment the week before I was 2 1/2 centimeters dilated, 75% effaced. I got home, made lunches for the next day and then started dinner when I began to feel very uncomfortable. I laid down on the couch to watch some of the hockey game when Jesse asked if I was okay? I said no and that is when he got his stop watch out and began timing my VERY uncomfortable contractions. It was 6:45pm when they started. I tried walking around to see if it would help when Jesse told me we were going to the hospital.

At first I told him "are you kidding me?" These could go on for HOURS, we do not have to leave right now. But, I was so glad we did because my contractions were 1 1/2 minutes a part the ENTIRE way to the hospital which is a 45 minute drive from our house. Jesse called everyone including the hospital and poor Kylie was in the back seat with her hands over her ears saying "I don't want to hear anything." I wasn't yelling or saying awful things just yet, but I could NOT get comfortable for the life of me in the truck from squirming all around, rolling the window up and down, you get the picture. My water broke when we hit Everett and if it weren't for Jesse's confirmation that they were ready for me with my epidural, I am not sure if I would have made it. We arrived at 7:40pm, our families took Kylie and I kept saying to the nurse "I just want my epidural." She said "let's get you in there and see where you are at." Once my doctor peeked....she said "you have done the hardest part, you just have to push him out." "WHAT???" I said! I was SHOCKED that I was at that point with NO epidural. That was NOT my birth plan.

After a handful of VERY painful pushes and F bombs, here was what we had been waiting for: Mason James Daurie 8lbs, 6oz and 20 3/4 inches long at 8:01pm. Healthy and perfect in every way!

Papa Jerry
My mom, Jesse's mom and our sister were also there, but I didn't get all those pictures to upload here. I will be posting several more as I go. It was a very special day meeting the sweetest, newest addition to our family. He is a gift in so many ways! We are so blessed!
